The phone rings. “Do you guys do abortions?” She’s pregnant. She’s crying. I’ve done this long enough to recognize despair in a voice. As I gently inquire about her circumstances, I get a deeper perspective of what she’s up against. If I’m being honest with you, she’s in a very difficult situation. She’s trapped and looking for an escape. I let her know we don’t provide abortions, yet she stays on the line with me, grateful for someone to listen—someone who cares. As I hang up, I let out a big sigh. She schedules an ultrasound appointment with us before she schedules an abortion appointment with them. I’m immediately thankful for the life-altering services we have to offer her. I’m also reminded that when a woman seeks abortion in the Lake Norman area, we will most likely be the first number that she finds on the internet. I like to think of that phone call as her LIFEline.

The pregnancy center is her lifeline, and the church is ours.

It has been encouraging to see the many pastors who have recently committed to walk and pray outside of facilities that take lives— abortion clinics. It’s heartbreaking to imagine what goes on within the walls of such a place. On the other hand, have you ever wondered what goes on inside a facility that saves lives?

We are inviting pastors to do just that.

And I’ve got to tell you, this place is really extraordinary.

It’s where an abortion-minded woman experiences the unexpected delight of hearing her unborn baby’s heartbeat for the first time. It’s where a hopeless mother makes the courageous choice to give her baby life. It’s where her needs are met—physically, emotionally and spiritually. It’s the Pregnancy Center.

This year we remain focused on strengthening our partnerships with local pastors through our Lifeline Campaign. We invite pastors from churches in our community to come by and pray with us at our center and become more familiar with the impact their support is having in the Lake Norman area. We are thankful for the pastors who have already taken time out of their busy schedules to visit and pray.

“I think there was something powerful about walking to each room, thinking about all the people who would be there, what they would be thinking, the spiritual battle that will take place in those rooms. It was in many ways like visiting an old battle site and reflecting on what it would be like to be there (but in reverse). But to lift up the place in prayer, well, there was nothing like it.  I didn’t feel like someone on a tour, but I felt like I was a vital part of this, and to know God was working was just really neat” –Pastor Michael Colvard, Harbor Church

“The Lake Norman Community Pregnancy Center has always held a special place in my heart and in my wife’s heart. Our church has partnered with the center in various ways throughout the years. I was able to get a fresh glimpse of all the center does on the recent Lifeline campaign because I took the associate pastor from my church. It was all so refreshing to see though his eyes. It was like hearing about the vision for the first time again! As we prayed in each room, I could feel the presence of God and the heart of God for these families that receive ministry. We rejoiced at what God was doing. We cried for the hopelessness that families feel. We celebrated because we know Jesus gives hope!”  -Pastor David Giles, Abundant Life Church

We know that your support and prayers literally breathe LIFE into this ministry, as this ministry breathes life into the hearts of women considering abortion in our community.

We are a LifeLine to one another.

Lives are being saved and changed here.

Come see for yourself.
